From Patricia Saito-Lewe...

Dear Randy:

When we finally decided that we really, really need to move forward on our remodel project, it was clear that finding the right contractor was going to be difficult. Friends and acquaintances who had recently completed projects would not offer a referral due to their unpleasant experiences. In fact, the only person I know who enjoyed a positive remodel used a contractor who had moved out of state. I was literally ready to give up when I discovered Custom Design & Construction.

From my first conversation with Bill, I felt confident that we had found the right company to handle our project. Bill was more a psychologist than a salesman when he "interviewed” us to determine if we were the right "fit”. That impressed me. It told me that CDC was interested in success stories, not compromises. We felt that if he was this careful choosing his projects, CDC would be just as careful with our home. We were right.

We appreciated that there were no pretenses or fluff when it came to our meetings with Bill and Samantha. Those were some of the most vulnerable times for us since the only thing we saw was on paper and the dollar signs were flying everywhere, yet not a single nail had been hammered. We were forewarned by Bill and his priceless "emotion chart”, which was comically accurate. Though exhilarating and scary, the design phase was well worth the investment in time spent with Samantha.

That brings us to the skilled craftspeople you hired to take our home apart and put it back together. From day one, Julio and his crew were competent, cordial, neat and, most of all, respectful of our home. We marveled at their dedication and commitment to providing us with the best possible solutions to even the smallest details. The thoughtfulness of their efforts are apparent today.

Martin Brothers Cabinetry crafted gorgeous cabinets, beyond what we imagined. They are both practical and beautiful. Whenever someone walks into our kitchen, they always comment on the richness of the cherry wood. Jesus martin is terrific and always welcomed my endless stream of questions. Likewise, the crew from Colormason provided excellent service and truly satisfied our needs in the end.

I can’t write this without applauding you, Randy, since you are the reason our project was so positive from start to finish. We all know the beginning was a bit rough while we waited for the rains to subside and Julio to become available. And, sorry to say, we did not love you immediately, but you did give us a lot of comfort with your extremely polished, professional and attentive manner.

Once our project got underway and after several weekly meetings, you kind of grew on us. Believe it or not, we even started to look forward to our Wednesday morning coffees with you. When new called, you answered your telephone. When we left a message, you called us back. You were available, you made us feel important, and you followed through on your promises. From what I can tell, that’s rare in this industry.

Even though the completion of our project was painfully extended, we could not be happier with the outcome. After living 18 years in a dysfunctional kitchen and bathroom, there is such an overwhelming sense of joy and satisfaction to come home to what is now an efficient, well-designed and beautiful space. We love it, love it, love it!

To quote friends and family members who have seen our "new" home:

"Wow, wow and WOW!"

"That is INCREDIBLE!!! It’s BEAUTIFUL!!! It looks like the kitchens on HGTV!"

"What an awesome transformation!"

"Our house is GORGEOUS!!! *gasp* I LOoOoOoOVE IT! So inviting and warm!"

My sentiments exactly.

Thank you, Randy, for so masterfully directing our project with such finesse, expertise and charm. We will miss our weekly meetings, but you’ll always have a place in our kitchen. Please extend our sincere thanks to Bill, Samantha and Jamie as well for their assistance and support.

With warmest regard and appreciation,

Patricia Saito-Lewe
